About the Job

 

This role leads maintenance operations to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective production while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

  • Plan and execute routine and shutdown maintenance to ensure timely, high-quality work
  • Analyze equipment failures and lead root cause investigations to prevent recurrence
  • Develop and manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and uptime
  • Partner with reliability teams to improve performance using data (e.g., vibration, thermography, oil analysis)
  • Manage maintenance budgets, control costs, and support capital improvement projects
  • Track and report KPIs, identifying and implementing corrective actions as needed
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (including MSHA)
  • Lead, develop, and support maintenance teams to drive productivity, quality, and engagement

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or 5+ years of maintenance management experience
  • 10+ years of experience, preferably in high-heat industrial processing environments (e.g., minerals or chemicals)

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage both hourly and salaried employees in a union environment
  • Proven ability to balance safety, quality, productivity, cost control, and employee relations
  • Experience with maintenance systems (EAM/CMMS), Microsoft Office, and technical documentation (e.g., schematics, drawings)
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to plan strategically, develop teams, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
