About the Role

Are you a hands-on problem solver who takes pride in keeping buildings running smoothly and supporting a high-performing team? The Atlantic Oceanside Hotel and Event Center is seeking a dedicated Assistant Maintenance Manager to support our Facilities team.

In this full-time, year-round role, you will work closely with the Maintenance Manager and Facilities Director to help oversee the maintenance and overall condition of our oceanfront property. You will play a key role in ensuring a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for both guests and team members. From assisting with daily operations and responding to unexpected repairs to helping lead and support the team, you will be an essential part of delivering an exceptional guest experience. This is a great opportunity for someone ready to grow their leadership skills while remaining hands-on in the field.

The full-time and seasonal maintenance team at the Atlantic Oceanside Hotel also provides support to the Bayview Hotel, an adjacent 26-room sister property, by assisting with maintenance requests and ensuring consistent upkeep across both locations. This shared responsibility helps maintain high standards of safety, functionality, and guest satisfaction at both properties.

Position Details:

  • Schedule: Full-time, year-round
  • Hours: Varying shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Location: Atlantic Oceanside Hotel and Event Center
  • Pay: Competitive hourly rate or salary based on experience + benefits

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Maintenance Manager in leading, scheduling, and assisting the maintenance team
  • Help oversee daily maintenance operations, including guest requests, repairs, and preventative maintenance
  • Perform and assist with troubleshooting across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general systems
  • Maintain high property standards across guest rooms, public spaces, and grounds
  • Assist with inventory management of tools, equipment, and supplies
  • Help train, coach, and support team members to ensure strong performance
  • Coordinate with vendors and assist with larger repair projects and property improvements
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to urgent maintenance needs as required
  • Step in to lead operations in the absence of the Maintenance Manager

Requirements:

  • Previous maintenance experience required; leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general maintenance
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability and willingness to be hands-on and support the team daily
  • Ability to lift up to 65 lbs and perform physical tasks in various environments
  • CPO certification or willingness to obtain
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and team-first mindset
