Schochet is seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Property Manager to join our Property Management Team at Hamilton Wade Douglas Apartments, a 200+ unit Elderly apartment community in Brockton, Massachusetts and Washington House, a 14unit Elderly apartment in Taunton, MA.
The Assistant Property Manager will support the Property Manager in the day-to-day operation of the property and will be responsible for leasing, resident certifications, compliance, applicant processing, resident relations, reporting, and administrative functions. The Assistant Property Manager must also be capable of assisting with property operations and providing supervisory support when the Property Manager is unavailable.
Responsibilities
Facilitate all aspects of the apartment leasing process, including applications, rents and fees, waitlist management, notices, and evictions.
Process applicants and maintain accurate applicant and resident records.
Conduct resident move-ins and move-outs.
Complete certifications and recertifications in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal requirements.
Maintain and update the property waiting list.
Inspect market-ready apartments for lease acceptance and resident move-in.
Prepare and process TRACS and HAP submissions and payments.
Monitor and prepare property management reports using Yardi.
Promote positive resident relations and respond professionally to resident questions, concerns, and complaints.
Maintain a thorough understanding of and compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
Provide administrative and operational support to the Property Manager.
Other duties would be assigned.
Qualifications
2+ years of property management experience required.
Experience with Section 8 Housing and Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) programs required.
Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) certification or equivalent required.
Yardi experience a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Bilingual in French, Spanish or Portuguese a plus
