About the SUB:

Position Summary: 
 The Building Manager is the on-site leader during shifts and is largely responsible for supporting other student staff, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring all guests feel welcome and safe in the SUB. This role requires a candidate who has strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills in a fast-paced setting. We are looking for a candidate who can begin SUMMER 2026.
Duties and Responsibilities: 
Adherence to Student Union Employee Handbook guidelines. 
Provide clients with exemplary customer service and details necessary for their events. 
Ensure the building is opened and closed according to guidelines, and proper building procedures are followed by guests and staff. 
Complete daily reports and communicate all necessary information to supervisors. 
Participate in necessary training and attend mandatory meetings. 
Responsible for ensuring the building opens and closes according to guidelines. 
Ensure the setup and/or breakdown of equipment in spaces according to the reservation specifications by delegating and directing work and assisting when needed. 
Report any changes in setups to operational leadership. 
Maintain a neat, orderly, and safe work environment; ensuring all equipment is returned to the appropriate storage area when not in use. 
Ensure that all equipment is always in fully operational condition and report any problems to the supervisor. 
Alert supervisor when there is a need for ordering/replacing equipment or supplies. 

Minimum Qualifications

Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong leadership, interpersonal, and conflict-management skills 
Ability to have a calm and professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment 
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills 
Previous experience in customer service and leadership roles 
Must be able to work early mornings, late evenings, and weekends.
