Property Manager – Commercial Real Estate (Government Portfolio)

Location: Chicago Area (Southwest Suburbs), IL — Onsite, 3–4 days/week

Overview

This is a rare find: a Property Manager role built for someone who wants to do relationship management, not spreadsheet management. No price-per-square-foot calculations. No vacancy analysis. No capital projects. Just a dedicated portfolio, long-term government tenants, and management that is hands-off and trusts you to run your buildings.

Join a full-service asset management and investment firm with deep roots in commercial real estate — 135+ properties across 28 states, a track record spanning nearly three decades, and a specialty in government-leased building.

You'll manage a portfolio of 12 commercial buildings, each with a single government tenant, and become the go-to person who keeps those tenants happy, those buildings running, and those vendor relationships tight!

You'll join a five-person PM team in a collaborative, in-office environment, working directly with firm leadership.

Compensation & Perks

  • $70,000–$85,000 base salary
  • Health Insurance (BCBS) — PPO/HMO options, 100% of employee premium covered!
  • Dental and vision insurance included
  • 401(k) with 3% company match
  • 7–8 paid holidays annually
  • Standard schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • Collaborative culture with a professional, polished standard of presentation

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of commercial property management experience
  • Strong relationship-builder — comfortable managing tenant and vendor relationships remotely via phone and video
  • Polished, professional presence — comfortable representing the company to government clientele
  • Clear, concise communicator (this role prioritizes conversation quality above all else)
  • Government property management experience a plus, but not required
  • Real estate license not required
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • This position is based onsite and is not eligible for remote work

Employer participates in E-Verify and does not offer visa sponsorship for this position; candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, now or in the future
