Kreider Farms is seeking an experienced and motivated Dairy Maintenance Manager in Manheim, PA. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and leadership abilities, experience managing maintenance personnel, and a commitment to safety, food quality, and animal welfare.

What You'll Do
- Lead, schedule, and coordinate daily activities of 5+ maintenance team members
- Develop training plans and oversee onboarding and training of new maintenance team members
- Prioritize, assign, and monitor maintenance work orders and projects
- Manage preventative maintenance programs for dairy and farm equipment, including:
- Milking parlors
- Feed systems
- Manure handling equipment
- Mechanical and electrical infrastructure
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems
- Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs as needed
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, inventories, and SOP documentation
- Communicate effectively with farm managers, herdspersons, and operations leadership
- Support equipment installations, facility upgrades, and capital improvement projects
- Coordinate outside contractors and service providers
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, food safety standards, animal welfare requirements, and company policies
- Conduct employee performance evaluations and provide coaching, mentoring, and corrective action when necessary
- Respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies and participate in on-call support
Qualifications
Required:
- 3–5 years of maintenance experience in agricultural, dairy, industrial, or related environments
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs
- Basic electrical troubleshooting experience, including motors, controls, and relays
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Supervisory or team leadership experience
- Operational/Practical knowledge of farm equipment
Preferred:
- Plumbing, Electrical, Welding, or Fabrication experience
- Knowledge of dairy equipment and farm operations
- Understanding of GMPs, food safety practices, and animal welfare standards
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and carry 50+ pounds
- Perform physical labor including climbing, bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, and pulling
- Work in varying weather conditions and environments with dust, moisture, odors, and elevated noise levels
- Maintain good hand-eye coordination and stamina for physically demanding work
