OVERVIEW

The Facilities & Maintenance Manager provides the leadership necessary to ensure the proper care, security, and safety practices of the facilities and equipment of IEWC to ensure that the multiple distribution and sales centers can provide the best possible service for the Company’s stakeholders.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Management
  1. Lead greenfield and brownfield facility projects globally, ensuring alignment with business growth strategies.
  2. Oversee facility expansions, upgrades, and renovations to support operational efficiency.
  3. Drive space planning, facility improvements, and optimization for safety, productivity, and scalability.
  4. Partner with leadership on global facility footprint planning, evaluating capacity for future needs.
  5. Responsible for installation, operation, maintenance, modification and protection of all building maintenance and equipment necessary to provide a comfortable, healthy and safe environment.
  6. Exercise sound business judgment in managing Capital Expenditure projects related to Equipment and Maintenance at all IEWC facilities, which are authorized by the Financial Plan; and in deciding to make expenditures beyond amounts called for in the Financial Plan, refer to conferred authority.
  7. Prepare AFEs and get necessary Executive approvals to complete the Maintenance projects. Effectively provide monthly updates on Cap Ex projects to Leadership. 
  8. Identify and analyze cost savings or cost reduction opportunities in reference to the care and maintenance or enhancement of facilities, equipment, and safety, and implement as appropriate.
  9. Analyze equipment performance at all facilities and provide recommendations to Leadership on which equipment to buy and ways to improve efficiencies and reduce down time.   
  10. Participate in the development of policies and procedures that impacts Safety & Maintenance at all facilities.
  11. Lead IEWC Safety Committee team and Manage monthly Safety Audit program across all IEWC facilities.
  12. Prepare and maintain annual budget for the headquarters building use and facility maintenance.
  13. Maintain  & support Safety & Maintenance related software programs ( Manager Plus) for all facilities.
  14. Work with DC Managers and ensure that Preventive Maintenance of Equipment and Calibration of measuring equipment is current and all records are maintained appropriately in Manager Plus.
  15. Develop training materials that promotes Safety and Maintenance at all facilities.
  16. Initiate and Manage an active campaign on safety measures at each site and ensure employees follow IEWC Safety Policy and Safety Procedure.
  17. Acts as OSHA coordinator & Maintain Safety and Maintenance Metrics for IEWC
  18. Maintain the efficiency and good working conditions of NB facility and support other facilities as needed.
  • Ensure the completion and maintenance of all required paperwork and maintain records and documentation
  • Take action in a manner that integrates a general duty of care respecting compliance with IEWC Corporate Quality Management System, policies and procedures, the Employee Handbook, the Code of Conduct, health and safety requirements, environmental regulations and applicable legal requirements

Supervisory Activities –

  • Act as a technical resource to address and resolve inquiries and problems.
  • Act on a regular basis to review the condition of facilities, production equipment, grounds, and safety practices of all IEWC locations & departments and develop recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure the completion of maintenance and repairs on Distribution Centers equipment and machinery.
  • Ensure the performance of minor maintenance and repairs on the buildings and grounds of the Local and Regional Offices.
  • Notify the VP of Operations, and other Regional DC Managers, as appropriate, of major problems with regard to equipment, machinery, buildings and grounds.
  • Ensure calibration of Distribution Center equipment, as needed.
  • Manage and provide guidance to New Berlin Maintenance team member(s).

           

Supplies, Equipment and Facilities
  1. Support DC managers, DC Shift Managers, DC Supervisors, and DC Leads to ensure that adequate supplies, materials, and parts are on hand to keep the Distribution Center operating smoothly.

 

Purchasing
  1. Assist in selection & procurement of major equipment (New or used).
  2. Purchase major equipment (New or Used) for DC’s and Facilities.
  3. Negotiate corporate pricing with vendors of major supplies (example inks & shipping supplies)
  4. Create and maintain part numbers for frequently purchased items such as consumable parts, inks, janitorial supplies, etc.
  5. Assist and/or negotiate as necessary in short and long term facility care contracts as needed within corporate DC and other IEWC Corporate facilities      

 

Distribution Centers and Equipment
  1. Participate in the development of IEWC Corporate facilities.
  2. Review and recommend approaches to the layout of each Distribution Center.
  3. Oversee the ongoing maintenance, security and safety of IEWC Corporate facilities (office and distribution centers) and grounds.
  4. Analyze the need for and ensure that plans are carried out for the acquisition, maintenance, and repair of equipment per design for all Distribution Centers. 
  5. Ensure the development of preventive maintenance programs for equipment at all Distribution Centers.
  6. Ensure compliance with appropriate housekeeping standards at all Distribution Centers.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Education and/or Experience: Minimum 7 years of progressive, relevant maintenance experience. Previous experience supporting equipment maintenance required. 3-5 years of previous managerial experience required with proven ability to effectively lead, coach and develop team members. Strong written and verbal communication required. Ability to partner cross-functionally as a technical SME in the maintenance space. Strong organizational skills and ability to determine priority. Ability to maintain utmost confidentiality. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations: A valid driver’s license and a valid passport.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical and business information and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Computer Applications Skills: Proficient with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Previous experience with an asset management system required.
