Position Overview
We are seeking a Facilities Manager with hands-on experience in HVAC. Manages a team of 7 that is responsible for caring for and maintaining the entire facility and overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Also, directly supervises non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws……
Key Responsibilities
Leverages technical knowledge to make informed decisions, allocate resources, and support team performance and development
Creates and implements preventative maintenance programs and building support systems
Manages the maintenance and repair of all necessary facility functions and provides expertise in all new construction or renovations projects
Leads improvement initiatives across the department, aligning them with company goals and ensuring employee involvement
Engages with Shop and Operations leadership in the development and implementation of strategic and tactical initiatives
Anticipates problems across workflows or teams and implements preventative measures that align with priorities
Works with both internal and external resources to maintain and repair all necessary facility functions
Interprets data, trends, and feedback to guide departmental planning, anticipating potential risks or challenges
Works alongside the Facilities Manager to manage the team’s operation and assists with budget performance
Seeks feedback from senior leaders and team to enhance effectiveness; invests in own growth while supporting development plans for direct reports
Leads with integrity and self-discipline; demonstrates professionalism through sound judgement, consistent follow-through, and ethical decision-making in complex situations
Maintains attention to detail, sets expectations for quality and ensures follow-through, and establishes processes/resources that support consistency
Prepares, analyzes, and reports on regularly tracked metrics, performance, goals, and objectives
Thinks ahead, anticipates needs, balances competing demands, and maintains strong personal organization under pressure
Coordinates all service-related activities for the facility including contract review, equipment maintenance, groundskeeping, etc.
Ensures all code and license requirements are properly maintained, and maintains all building blueprints, records, and manuals for the facility
Aligns team efforts and organizational objectives and creates an environment where employees have the resources and support needed to perform effectively
Manages staff resources and organization structure to adequately align with and meet business objectives
Optimizes team structure, tools, and workflows to support efficient performance, and addresses root causes of inefficiency
Manages Facilities team in a timely and efficient manner that best serves internal and external customers
Coordinates project management activities including repair, remodel, and maintenance projects
Sets clear targets, tracks progress, and takes proactive steps to achieve business outcomes
Builds processes and expectations that consistently meet or exceed customer expectations, and addresses systemic service issues
QualificationsQualifications
Experience working in a manufacturing or related environment
Bachelor’s Degree in Facilities Management or related field preferred
Experience working in EHS preferred
5 - 10 years’ proven experience working in building maintenance and management
Must have HVAC experience
Strong Smalley product, application, and industry knowledge
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must have strong interpersonal skills, ability to inspire, motivate and lead people
Extreme attention to detail, superior organizational, time management, & prioritizing abilities
Strong and confident judgment and problem-solving skills; ability to take risks and make decisions
Skilled in using Microsoft Office noting Excel
Knowledge and experience in building maintenance procedures, contract agreements, and security and safety needs of a manufacturing company
Ability to work with numbers as they pertain to contracts, maintenance agreements, inventory and project management with a basic understanding of accounting concepts
Ability to be on-call

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $80,000 TO $105,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. This role is bonus/and or incentive eligible.
