Facilities Manager

The Pacific Fleet Submarine Museum is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the daily operation, maintenance, and appearance of our museum campus at historic Pearl Harbor. Serving more than 350,000 visitors annually, the museum includes exhibit galleries, historic assets, public spaces, offices, maintenance facilities, and landscaped grounds.
 
 The Facilities Manager is responsible for ensuring that all facilities are safe, reliable, clean, and visitor-ready. The position supervises an on-site maintenance team and manages preventive maintenance, coordinates contractors, supervises routine repairs, supports special events, and maintains compliance with applicable safety and regulatory requirements.

 

·         Manage day-to-day maintenance and operation of museum buildings, grounds, infrastructure, and utilities.

·         Develop and administer preventive maintenance schedules.

·         Inspect facilities and correct deficiencies promptly.

·         Coordinate outside contractors for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire alarm, security, landscaping, pest control, and other specialty services.

·         Serve as the museum representative for larger capital projects managed by outside project managers.

·         Supervise maintenance employees.

·         Maintain work order and maintenance records.

·         Develop annual maintenance budgets and monitor expenditures.

·         Maintain inventories of maintenance supplies and equipment.

·         Respond to facility emergencies including power outages, leaks, storms, and equipment failures.

·         Prepare facilities for public programs, VIP visits, military ceremonies, and fundraising events.

·         Ensure compliance with OSHA, ADA, environmental requirements, and applicable Navy installation requirements.

·         Perform other related duties as assigned.

·         High school diploma or equivalent required.

·         Five years of progressively responsible facilities maintenance experience.

·         Experience coordinating contractors and vendors.

·         Valid driver's license

 

·         Technical training or degree in facilities management, construction management, engineering technology, or related field.

·         Experience with museums, visitor attractions, educational campuses, or government facilities.

·         Experience supervising staff or volunteers.

·         Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

·         Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, and building systems.

·         Ability to read construction drawings and technical manuals.

·         Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.

·         Ability to prioritize competing priorities and solve problems independently.

·         Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

 

·         Lift up to 50 pounds.

·         Walk extensively throughout the campus.

·         Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

·         Climb ladders and work in confined spaces when necessary.

 

Generally Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Evening, weekend, holiday, and emergency response work will occasionally be required.

 

Salary: $60 - $90k Competitive and commensurate with experience.
