Facilities Manager

Salt Lake City + South Main | $65,000–$70,000 DOE | Full‑Time, Salaried

Build. Fix. Improve. Repeat.

You're the kind of person who notices when something's off - a strange rattle in the HVAC, a door that doesn't quite close right, a system that could run smoother. As Facilities Manager at The Front, you'll keep our gyms running safely, efficiently, and at a high standard every single day.

About The Front

The Front is more than a climbing gym - it's a community hub and a third place for the outdoor‑minded. We design and maintain distinctive facilities that inspire connection, movement, and growth. Behind the scenes, operational excellence and attention to detail are what make the member experience shine.

About the Role

As Facilities Manager, you'll lead hands‑on maintenance and facility operations across our Salt Lake City and South Main locations. This is a working‑manager role that blends technical expertise with leadership, planning, and preventative care. You'll oversee systems, people, and processes that keep our spaces clean, safe, and welcoming.
Pay range: $65,000–$70,000 DOE
Reports to: General Managers

What You'll Do

  • Lead and manage the Facilities Department across both locations
  • Perform and oversee maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, IT, and security systems
  • Maintain gym infrastructure, including swamp coolers, natural gas heaters, and fitness equipment
  • Build and execute preventative maintenance schedules using company tools and software
  • Train, supervise, and support facilities staff with a strong focus on safety and efficiency
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and projects
  • Conduct regular facility inspections and proactively resolve issues
  • Keep detailed logs of inspections, repairs, and improvements
  • Enforce SOPs for cleaning, maintenance, and facility operations
  • Manage seasonal needs like winterization, snow removal, and temperature control
  • Respond to urgent maintenance issues, including occasional after‑hours needs

What You Bring

You'll likely thrive in this role if you:
  • Have 5+ years of professional experience, including at least 3 years in facilities maintenance and 1–2 years in a leadership role
  • Are skilled in general maintenance: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, and troubleshooting
  • Have experience with fitness equipment maintenance (a plus)
  • Stay calm under pressure and solve problems efficiently
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, vendors, and members
  • Are organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently
  • Are flexible with nights, weekends, and on‑call needs when emergencies arise
  • Hold a valid driver's license
  • Can regularly lift 50 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs., with frequent standing, climbing, and reaching
  • Care deeply about customer experience and take pride in well‑run spaces
  • Enjoy creating checklists, systems, and processes that improve consistency and efficiency

Perks & Benefits

  • Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD, LTD, and Accident Insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Free gym membership
  • Discounts on food and merchandise
  • A dynamic, active work environment with room to grow
