Family Haven is a local nonprofit dedicated to building a community of happy, healthy individuals and families through the prevention and treatment of child abuse and trauma. With locations in Orem and Lehi, we provide a range of family support programs designed to strengthen relationships and promote long-term well-being. We are looking to add a part-time facilities manager to our team to help us look after our two buildings.
The Facilities Manager is the primary point of contact for keeping Family Haven’s buildings, grounds, and physical infrastructure safe, functional, sustainable, and cost-effective. This person liaises with office staff to identify needs, and with board members and community volunteers to implement cost-effective solutions for the facilities in both Orem and Lehi.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform day-to-day maintenance duties across multiple properties to keep building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) running smoothly.
- Perform light construction and general handyman work.
- Monitor building conditions to ensure properties meet local health, fire, accessibility, and environmental regulations.
- Landscape maintenance and upkeep.
- Assist with tenant relations, ensuring tenant needs are met in accordance with lease agreements.
- Support a wide range of tasks—from setting up a conference room for meetings to repairing a toilet flapper, or driving a truck and trailer several hours to pick up business inventory.
- Hire and oversee third-party service providers when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in handyman work, construction, or property management.
- Experience towing a trailer
- Strong troubleshooting skills for common property issues.
- Dependable and punctual with a varying work schedule.
- Clear and professional communication skills, including asking questions and seeking clarification when needed.
- Independent, resourceful, and proactive attitude.
- Comfortable and safety-conscious when working with power tools, on rooftops, or in mechanical rooms.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no excessive speeding or major infractions).
HOURS
This position is part-time to start with approximately 15 hours per facility per month. Potential to grow as needs are determined.
