POSITION SUMMARY
The Facility Manager will oversee the day to day cross dock and/or warehouse operations. They will lead and direct a team of employees for all shifts. All inbound and outbound flow of materials, accurate unloading and receipt of inbound product as well as the accurate and timely loading of outbound shuttles will be directed and controlled by the facility manager.
They will manage communication with the materials group on late arrivals or departures, OSD issues, and quality related concerns. Ensures adherence to all established safety and quality guidelines, on-time service expectations, and window time conformance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION
Planning/Organizing
- Responsible for overseeing the tactical and operational planning of assigned customer’s inbound/outbound logistics operations to include duties but not limited to the following:
- Monitor all loads for on-time receipt and delivery window conformance.
- Oversee receiving and loading of all trucks and processing required paperwork
- Maintain and update all SOP’s and Work Instructions for customer programs.
- Responsible for ensuring all shipping and receiving procedures are understood and adhered to as defined
- Work directly with plant shipping departments and central customer service group for communication of loads running late to customers
- Maintain and manage customer KPI deck for weekly, monthly and quarterly reviews
- Determines responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives.
- Coordinates activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum distribution and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
- Shifts employees’ tasks as needed to respond to changes in demand
Problem Solving
- Responsible for problem solving, operational improvements, and efficiency improvements to reduce operating costs
- Provides guidance regarding personnel requirements, material needs, subcontract requirements, and facility and equipment needs.
Project Management
- Obtains data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
Cost Consciousness
- Cost management that contributes to meeting company goals
- Ensures all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met.
Oral & Written Communication
- Performs administrative activities associated with the effective management of warehouse operations, including compiling, storing, and retrieving production data for reports.
Quality
- Provides and promotes a clean, sanitary, and safe working environment
- Tracks, analyzes and communicates key performance metrics – KPI Deck
- Ensures all receiving, inspection, and put away processes are performed correctly and completed daily
- Establishes distribution and quality control standards.
Managing People
- Supervises employees and interns.
- May lead employees doing similar work.
Teaching/Training
- Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Training, testing, and certifying all material handlers
- Responsible to enforce all safety rules and guidelines

Requirements
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, or business related field with five years’ experience in automotive logistics preferred.
- Candidates with a High School Diploma/GED or higher with 10+ years of experience in leadership role may be considered.
PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- 5-10 years or equivalent combination of education and experience
REQUIRED SKILLS (TECHNICAL, CLERICAL, LANGUAGE, ETC.)
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Maintain data related to production and personnel files.
- Personal computer skills
- Computer network skills
