Position Summary
Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of all agency properties and vehicles, ensuing their maintenance, safety and functionality by managing cleaning, supplies, security, repairs, building projects, and budgets, while adhering to the compliance standards and prioritizing the well-being of occupants within the facility.
Required Education, Experience and Qualifications
- High school diploma (or equivalent) or a professional building certification.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience.
- 2-3 years of comprehensive building maintenance and environmental experience
- Good understanding of building codes and fire safety
- Maintain valid Ohio driver’s license and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability.
- Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal background check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Federal Bureau of Investigations).
Role and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain operational and emergency manuals.
- Complete minor maintenance or repairs to appliances, furnaces, plumbing, electrical, or other interior and exterior items, as skills permit.
- Determine when any facility needs maintenance or repairs by an outside contractor or repair service and assist the shelter manager (if shelter) or affected staff (if admin) in coordinating with contractors in providing contract services.
- Update and maintain facility files and repair/maintenance logs for: renovation fixed equipment, acquired appliances and furniture, elevators, HVAC, other systems as needed or requested.
- Establish schedules and methods for preventative maintenance and safety inspection programs for all facilities and equipment {backflow, fire extinguishers, etc.}.
- Attend, train, and/or coordinate training in facility maintenance and safety methods, procedures, and techniques.
- Provide recommendations regarding facility safety and security issues for staff and clients.
- Respond to emergencies for the purpose of determining and implementing appropriate actions required to resolve situation.
- Inspect construction and installation progress.
- Oversee the coordination of building space allocation and layout and facility expansion.
- Coordinate with managers to repair/maintain all agency vehicles.
- Travel to other Hope & Healing facilities for work as needed.
- Adheres to Service Excellence standards at all times.
- Complies with agency policies and procedures, federal and state requirements, CARF standards and educational/certification/registry requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Work environment: This position will be in a facility with victims of domestic violence or sexual assault. In addition to interaction with the survivors, the employee may have interactions with families of these individuals, the assailants and law enforcement.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
- Flexible schedule spread over a 7 day week to ensure appropriate coverage. Some evenings and weekends. On-call responsibility is required.

- Experience with household maintenance and able to perform simple maintenance duties.
