Join Community Behavioral Healthcare (CBH) as our Full-Time Facility Manager and play a critical role in maintaining a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment for our patients, staff, and visitors. This onsite leadership opportunity allows you to directly impact the daily operations of our behavioral health hospital while ensuring the integrity, safety, and functionality of our physical plant and grounds.

As Facility Manager, you will oversee facility operations, maintenance programs, life safety compliance, environmental services coordination, vendor relationships, and capital improvement projects. Your leadership will help ensure our hospital remains compliant with regulatory requirements while supporting our mission of delivering compassionate, evidence-based behavioral healthcare that uplifts, restores, and strengthens those we serve.

Your Role as Facility Manager

As the Facility Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and safety of the hospital facility and grounds. You will ensure that all building systems, equipment, utilities, and infrastructure operate efficiently and in compliance with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing preventive maintenance programs and facility inspections.

  • Ensuring compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, LDH, OSHA, NFPA, and Life Safety Code requirements.

  • Coordinating repairs, maintenance projects, and vendor services.

  • Overseeing facility security, environmental safety, and emergency preparedness activities.

  • Maintaining documentation related to inspections, testing, maintenance, and regulatory compliance.

  • Managing contracts and relationships with external service providers and contractors.

  • Assisting with facility renovations, construction projects, and capital improvements.

  • Supporting hospital leadership during surveys, inspections, and accreditation activities.

  • Monitoring utility systems, fire alarm systems, emergency generators, HVAC systems, and other critical infrastructure.

  • Participating in Environment of Care and Safety Committee activities.

  • Promoting a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence throughout the organization.

The Facility Manager serves as a key member of the leadership team and plays an essential role in creating an environment that supports exceptional patient care and staff success.

What You Need to Be Successful

Successful candidates will possess strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications and competencies include:

  • Experience in healthcare facility management, hospital operations, plant operations, construction management, engineering, or a related field.

  • Knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA, NFPA, and Life Safety Code requirements.

  • Strong project management and vendor management skills.

  • Ability to interpret building plans, maintenance records, and regulatory standards.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to regulatory compliance.

  • Ability to respond effectively to emergencies and operational challenges.

  • Demonstrated leadership and team-building capabilities.

  • Commitment to customer service and supporting a positive patient experience.

Preferred qualifications include experience working in a hospital, behavioral health facility, or other healthcare setting.
