Maintenance Manager

Position Summary   
The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for supervising maintenance staff and performing general building and production maintenance on HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions

• Perform diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives.
• Coordinate the day-to-day operation of the maintenance department; manage and supervise the maintenance staff and ensure that all requisite tasks are managed quickly and efficiently within budget restraints.
• Monitors, reinforces, and oversees the health, safety, and environmental (EHS) performance of the department and employees.
• Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines; diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
• Own the assessment of facility conditions and initiates facility repair and/or maintenance activities.
• Provide emergency/ unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
• Analyzes work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
• Resolve chronic or acute equipment issues; detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to operations leadership.
• Utilize the computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) for maintenance work order management, documenting equipment information, and managing preventive maintenance requirements; manage MTTR/MTBF metrics.
• Perform and coordinate regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and facilities; set priorities for preventative maintenance work orders, maintenance requisitions and scheduled work; coordinate and monitor contractor activities as needed.
• Initiate maintenance work orders as required and prepare cost justifications for major repairs or renovations; maintain adequate supplies and equipment for the maintenance department.
• Work closely with equipment vendors and suppliers on identifying and ordering specialty equipment or parts and objectively reviewing vendor or supplier performance in terms of service quality and timely response.
• Participate in APQP processes relating to the design of assembly work cells and tooling, make recommendations as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma/ GED.
• 7+ years of experience in plant maintenance in a stamping or cold heading/forming environment
• Computer proficiency
• Excellent manual dexterity with the ability to carry and lift up to 60 lbs.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology or related discipline.
• Previous experience managing a maintenance team.

• Strong technical background in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Proven leadership, troubleshooting and communication skills
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
• Able to read schematics and blueprints

Physical & Environmental Requirements

• Must be able to work in a sitting/standing position for extended periods of time in an industrial environment (unairconditioned manufacturing facility with continuous exposure to noise).
• May be required to work overtime or any shifts, including weekends
