About the Role

Are you a hands-on leader who takes pride in keeping a property running smoothly and looking its best? We're looking for a Maintenance Manager/Engineer to lead our maintenance team and make sure our guests and staff always have a safe, comfortable place to be. You'll direct the engineering function of the hotel, train and motivate your team, and keep everything from guest rooms to the pool deck in top shape.

What You'll Do

  • Manage day-to-day staffing, assign work, and set performance goals; coach, mentor, and provide regular feedback to your team
  • Handle and store chemicals safely and in compliance with local regulations
  • Lead preventative maintenance for guest rooms and public areas; assign and review repair work orders
  • Respond to guest requests and complaints to ensure satisfaction
  • Partner with the General Manager on remodels, refurbishments, and new equipment installs; oversee subcontractors
  • Track monthly inventory of parts and supplies and place orders as needed
  • Monitor maintenance budget with a focus on energy management, preventive maintenance, and capital planning
  • Maintain pool/spa equipment, including water chemistry (pH and chlorine levels)
  • Be available during off-hours for urgent maintenance issues or emergencies
  • Maintain a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs require

What You'll Need

  • 4+ years of experience in general building maintenance, construction, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Certifications a plus: Certified Pool Operator (CPO), EPA Level 3, HVAC/refrigeration, or licensed plumber/electrician/carpenter status
  • Strong English communication skills (reading, writing, and verbal)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift/carry up to 100 lbs and push/pull medium to large objects regularly
  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching
  • Good vision (near, distance, color, depth perception) for inspecting equipment and work areas
