Description
Do you like working behind the scenes while keeping a large facility running? The Office of Building and
Mechanical Services provides mechanical, building, grounds maintenance and electronic security for state-owned
buildings. The Division of Mechanical Services is comprised of HVAC technicians, licensed electricians,
licensed plumbers, boiler and chiller technicians, electronic security technicians and mechanics.
The Maintenance Manager provides overall management for the mechanical maintenance branch. This branch provides mechanical maintenance to Cabinet owned buildings. This position manages the HVAC, plumbing, controls and electrical maintenance for the Finance Cabinet. This position reviews, issues and closes out work requests through FM Works.
This position will monitor Capital Construction Projects, review Master Agreements and obtain repair quotes for the Division. Building trades, customer service and computer knowledge is preferred, as this position will require coordination with tenants and maintain accurate records of building maintenance.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION:
High school graduate.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:
Seven years of building maintenance, grounds maintenance, general trades, skilled trades, moving services or mechanical maintenance experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:
Formal training in industrial arts, horticulture, building maintenance, grounds maintenance, general trades, skilled trades, mechanical engineering, or a related field will substitute for the experience on a year-for- year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:
Experience in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.

Working Conditions
Incumbents in this job title may be required to use hand tools and lift items in excess of 20 pounds.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
