About the Role
Location – Onsite
This
is an onsite role that works at McMinnville Creamery in McMinnville, OR. The shift hours are Monday - Friday, 7 am to 4 pm.
Employee Type – Salaried
Bonus – This position is eligible for a 5% annual incentive bonus based on cooperative and individual performance.

Summary of Role
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading the maintenance of equipment, boilers, wastewater, CMMS system, and the freon cooling system at the McMinnville Creamery. This role is also responsible for completing facilities-related projects as assigned and tracking the completion of projects. This position promotes collaboration and teamwork within the Maintenance Department. This is a safety sensitive role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
o Communicates performance expectations by evaluating performance, providing timely feedback, training, coaching, and recommending personnel actions for assigned staff.
o Review and approve timecards.
o Ensures compliance with applicable policies, including but not limited to safety policies/procedures/best practices, fair employment practices, good manufacturing practices, and quality assurance policies.
o Adjusts departmental practices, and/or workload among staff, to attain acceptable performance.
o Supervise maintenance on equipment and preventative maintenance programs.
o Maintain accurate maintenance performance records.
o Monitor and assist in maintenance of the boiler, as appropriate.
o Supervise preventative maintenance on equipment according to the manufacture’s guidelines, grounds maintenance, electrical maintenance, and inspection and repair of sanitation equipment, as appropriate.
o Maintain preventative maintenance schedule.
o Collaborate with production staff to schedule preventative maintenance.
o Monitor and assist with routine maintenance on various pumps and valves within the creamery.
o Assist with routine maintenance of laboratory equipment.
o Monitor freon cooling system and assist with repairs as appropriate.
o Research equipment and building repair costs, including obtaining quotes.
o Maintain general carpentry for Grade A condition and in compliance with building codes.
o Supervise and maintain the Dissolved Air Filtration system in communication with appropriate city contacts.
o Maintain inventory of spare parts.
o Manage the Limble computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to monitor work order completion and inventory management.
o Use SAP software system for PO submittal, tracking and receipt.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
o Assist the McMinnville Plant Manager with selecting contract help for equipment, electrical and building repair, as needed.
o Assist with the budgetary process.
o Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
o Minimum of 7 years’ experience in maintenance role in a food production setting required.
o Minimum of one year of experience coordinating, supervising, or training employees in a production or manufacturing environment.
o Strong oral and written communication and comprehension skills.
o Three years of experience with electrical and mechanical maintenance in a production environment required.
o Two year technical degree in maintenance trade preferred.
o Basic computer skills required.
o Strong attention to detail required.
o Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
o Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
o Ability to frequently bend, twist/turn, reach above shoulders, and climb throughout shift as needed.
o Ability to work in an environment that includes: confined spaces, chemicals, hot spaces, noisy spaces, and working at heights with the appropriate personal protective equipment.
o Ability to obtain appropriate respirator training.
o Ability to organize and prioritize workload and multitask.
o Knowledge of milk processing equipment preferred.
o An understanding of Pasteurize Milk Ordinance and Good Manufacturing Practices preferred.
o Basic understanding of plumbing and electrical codes and regulatory standards preferred.
o Experience with boiler repair and maintenance preferred.
o Knowledge of ladder logic computer controls preferred.
o Ability to work overtime and on weekends, as needed.
o Forklift and boom lift license or the ability to obtain them.
Base salary wage range: $83,865.60 per year - $104,842.40 per year
This salary wage range
is exclusive of fringe benefits. The compensation package may also include
incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary bonuses. If
you are hired at CROPP, your final base salary wage compensation will be determined
based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or
experience. Additionally, we believe in the importance of pay equity and
consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final
offer. Please keep in mind that entry-level candidates to this role should
expect to be at the lower end of the salary wage range and hiring at the maximum of the salary wage range
is not typical.
