Job DetailsJob Location: Pittsburgh, PA 15238We are looking for an energetic, hands-on Maintenance Manager with a strong background in manufacturing and a passion for driving continuous improvement. This individual will lead the site’s maintenance and engineering strategy, ensure operational reliability, and build a high-performing team aligned with safety, compliance, and production goals.
Key Responsibilities
Champion a safety-first culture through leadership, work practices, and employee training.
Lead, develop, and coach a skilled maintenance team to support 24/7 food production operations.
Maintain compliance with food industry standards, including audits, regulatory requirements, and GMPs.
Drive performance by implementing and managing preventive and predictive maintenance programs using a CMMS.
Optimize uptime of high-speed packaging and automation equipment, including robotics and PLCs.
Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Engineering to align maintenance initiatives with business needs.
Manage departmental budgets, inventory levels (MRO), vendor relationships, and capital projects.
Monitor, analyze, and improve maintenance KPIs (MTTR, OEE, PM compliance, etc.).
Ensure facility maintenance, utility systems, and building infrastructure support uninterrupted production.
Develop and enforce SOPs, training materials, and maintenance procedures.
Manage third-party contractors and service providers for facility repairs and specialized equipment maintenance.
QualificationsQualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 5–10 years in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry.
At least 3 years in a leadership or management role in a production-driven setting.
Proven experience managing automation, high-speed packaging, and robotic equipment.
Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills; PLC troubleshooting knowledge required.
Demonstrated experience managing and optimizing CMMS and preventive maintenance programs.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Preferred
Previous exposure to GFSI audits (SQF/BRC), USDA/FSMA/FDA compliance.
Implementation of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies in a maintenance environment.
Capital project management experience in food manufacturing.
