The Maintenance Manager is a leadership role responsible for the overall maintenance strategy, execution, and technical integrity of facility and production assets. This role is critical to sustaining high equipment uptime, advancing reliability excellence, and ensuring disciplined integration between Maintenance, Reliability Engineering, and MRO. The Maintenance Manager leads maintenance teams, sets technical expectations, and drives continuous improvement through engineering-based problem solving and asset management best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Reliability & Equipment Uptime
- Own equipment availability, reliability, and lifecycle performance across the facility.
- Establish and execute maintenance strategies that protect production, reduce unplanned downtime, and control maintenance cost.
- Ensure effective response to equipment failures with consistent application of root cause analysis and systematic corrective actions.
- Partner with Operations to align maintenance priorities with production and business objectives.
Maintenance Strategy & Execution
- Lead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to ensure consistent execution and continuous improvement.
- Define maintenance standards, procedures, and workmanship expectations.
- Ensure maintenance planning and scheduling processes are followed and effective.
- Balance planned work vs. reactive work to improve overall maintenance effectiveness.
Reliability Engineering & Systems
- Accountable for effective use and integrity of the Reliability system (CMMS), including asset hierarchy, job plans, failure coding, and maintenance history.
- Drive reliability initiatives such as PM optimization, critical asset ranking, defect elimination, and equipment life cycle analysis.
- Lead or sponsor root cause failure investigations (RCFA/RCA) and ensure actions are implemented and sustained.
- Use data and reliability metrics to guide decision-making and prioritization.
MRO & Procurement Interface
- Serve as the primary maintenance interface to MRO/Procurement.
- Define spare parts strategies for critical assets, including stocking levels and risk-based spare identification.
- Ensure proper part standardization, usage, and inventory accuracy.
- Evaluate vendor and contractor performance related to maintenance services, parts quality, and technical support.
Leadership & Organizational Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop Maintenance Supervisors and maintenance trades (Electricians, Millwrights, Apprentices)
- Set expectations for performance, accountability, and technical excellence.
- Support training, skills progression, and workforce capability aligned with current and future asset needs.
- Foster a culture of safety, discipline, and continuous improvement.
Safety, Compliance & Governance
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety policies, regulatory requirements, and engineering standards.
- Enforce lockout/tagout, safe work practices, and permit systems.
- Support audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance efforts.
- Champion safe equipment design, modifications, and maintenance practices.
Communication & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Reliability, and Supply Chain leaders.
- Participate in capital planning, equipment upgrades, and long-term asset strategies.
- Lead maintenance performance reviews, downtime analysis, and business updates.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial, or related discipline) required.
- 7–10+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, reliability, or engineering roles.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing maintenance teams or supervisors.
- Strong background in industrial equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Experience implementing and sustaining CMMS-based maintenance and reliability programs.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Engineering-based problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong understanding of reliability engineering principles and asset lifecycle management.
- Proven ability to lead teams in uptime-driven, safety-critical environments.
- Effective communicator with the ability to interface across functions and leadership levels.
- Financial and cost-awareness related to maintenance spend, spares, and contractors.

Compensation:
- $101,621.00 - $127,026.00
- Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
