About the Role
As a Maintenance Manager at Wheatland Tube Zekelman Industries, you will lead the maintenance function for the Blytheville facility, ensuring equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and a safe working environment. This role is responsible for overseeing maintenance staff, implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that reduce downtime and support production goals.
You will collaborate closely with Maintenance, Operations, Purchasing, and plant leadership teams to ensure maintenance work is effectively planned, executed, and aligned with plant objectives. This is a full-time, onsite role located in Blytheville, AR.
This role is ideal for a technically strong maintenance leader who thrives in a heavy industrial environment and is committed to safety, reliability, and team development.
What You’ll Do
Supervise and direct daily activities of maintenance staff through scheduling, planning, and coaching.
Promote and enforce a safe work environment by actively participating in plant safety programs and initiatives.
Develop, implement, and administer maintenance programs while ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, company procedures, and applicable laws.
Ensure all maintenance work is performed in accordance with established safety, legal, and quality requirements.
Collaborate with Maintenance and Operations teams to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that reduce downtime and improve production performance.
Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance practices to improve equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
Assign work to appropriate personnel and provide clear instructions with defined expectations for completion.
Manage repair and maintenance and manpower costs within budget and identify opportunities for improvement.
Lead identification and execution of capital investment projects related to equipment and facility improvements.
Provide technical guidance during equipment breakdowns to restore operations safely and efficiently.
Coordinate material requirements, initiate requisitions, and work with Purchasing to ensure required materials are available for maintenance activities.
Monitor team performance through workmanship audits and provide constructive feedback.
Identify critical spare parts and maintain appropriate inventory levels to maximize equipment uptime.
Supervise storeroom team members to ensure procedures are followed and parts are available when needed.
Conduct performance evaluations, establish goals, and administer discipline as required.
Lead and promote healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy.
Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Who You Are
5+ years of mechanical or electrical supervisory experience in a heavy industrial environment.
Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated leadership, team-building, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical, communication, and motivational leadership abilities.
Ability to coordinate multiple priorities and achieve operational goals.
Strong troubleshooting, decision-making, and time-management skills.
Ability to analyze complex maintenance and equipment reliability issues.
Working knowledge of safety regulations, maintenance scheduling, and maintenance management systems.
Ability to lead complex maintenance and repair activities in an industrial environment.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to maintain regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance.
