The Opportunity
We are seeking a Maintenance Manager. In this role, you are responsible for the upkeep, repair, and preventive maintenance of all hotel systems, guest rooms, public areas, and food & beverage outlets. This hands-on role requires both technical expertise and the ability to manage a small team, vendor relationships, all while maintaining the high standards expected of our property. We are looking for a professional with a sharp eye for detail who can manage preventive maintenance schedules and address urgent repairs with calm competence. The ideal candidate takes pride in their craftsmanship, communicates effectively across departments, and views high-quality maintenance as an essential part of the hospitality experience.
Key Responsibilities
● Oversee daily maintenance operations across guest rooms, corridors, lobby, back-of-house, and restaurant/bar outlets
● Develop and execute a preventive maintenance program
● Respond promptly to guest-reported maintenance issues and coordinate urgent repairs to minimize disruption
● Manage relationships with outside contractors and vendors (elevator, fire/life safety, pest control, landscaping, etc.) and review their work for quality and cost
● Maintain compliance with local building codes, fire and safety regulations, and health department requirements relevant to F&B operations
● Manage the maintenance budget, including parts inventory, supplies etc.
● Supervise and schedule maintenance staff, including hiring, training, and performance management
● Conduct regular property walkthroughs to proactively identify and address wear, damage, or safety hazards
● Support renovation or refurbishment projects, including coordination with contractors
● Maintain accurate records of maintenance logs, equipment manuals, warranties, and inspection reports
● Participate in emergency preparedness planning and respond to after-hours emergencies as needed
● Ensure kitchen and bar equipment in both F&B outlets is properly maintained to avoid service disruptions
Qualifications
● 3+ years of maintenance or facilities management experience, ideally in hospitality
● Working knowledge of plumbing, elevators, painting, carpentry and drywall, general repairs, electrical systems, and commercial kitchen equipment
● Experience managing vendors and contractors
● Strong organizational and leadership skills
● Ability to respond to emergencies, including evenings/weekends as needed
● Excellent communication skills and a guest-focused mindset
● Trade certifications a plus, though not always required
● Familiarity with local fire, safety, and health codes preferred
Work Environment
● On-property role requiring physical activity (lifting, climbing ladders, standing/walking for extended periods)
● Some on-call or after-hours availability required for emergencies
● Direct interaction with guests, hotel staff, and outside vendors
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary Range: $72,000 - $75,000 | Commensurate with Experience

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Primarily property-based, with a mix of desk work, floor presence, and meetings across departments. Some evenings or weekends may be needed around key team milestones, events, or employee relations matters. Ability to sit, stand, walk, and lift up to 25 lbs as needed.

Pay Transparency (California Labor Code §432.3)
In accordance with California law, the base salary range for this position is $75,000–$95,000 annually. Actual compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors. Additional compensation may include performance bonuses and benefits as outlined above.
