Job Responsibilities:
Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:
• Owns all maintenance operations for the facility, including corrugator, converting equipment, utilities, building systems, and material handling. Accountable for uptime, reliability, and response to breakdowns across both sites.
• Leads preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs. Builds, enforces, and audits PM schedules tied to OEM specs, failure history, and production demand. Eliminates reactive maintenance as the norm.
• Strong electrical and controls oversight. Must understand PLCs, VFDs, drives, motors, sensors, safety circuits, and troubleshooting logic well enough to challenge technicians, vendors, and contractors. Not a desk-only role.
• Owns safety in maintenance. Enforces LOTO, arc flash, confined space, hot work, machine guarding, and contractor safety. Conducts investigations for maintenance-related incidents and drives corrective actions. Zero tolerance for shortcuts.
• Manages and develops a union maintenance workforce. Assigns work, evaluates skill levels, supports training plans, and holds mechanics accountable to standards, procedures, and behavior. Works within the CBA without hiding behind it.
• Controls maintenance spend. Owns budget for labor, parts, contractors, capital repairs, and emergency work. Tracks cost drivers, reduces repeat failures, and justifies capital requests with data, not anecdotes.
• Partners with Operations and Production leadership. Aligns maintenance priorities with schedules, outages, and changeovers. Pushes back when production decisions increase risk, downtime, or safety exposure.
• Owns parts and inventory strategy. Ensures critical spares are identified, stocked, and audited. Eliminates obsolete inventory while preventing downtime caused by poor planning or shortages.
• Leads capital projects and major repairs. Supports installs, rebuilds, and upgrades from scope through startup. Ensures equipment is handed off with documentation, training, and PM plans in place.
• Strong systems and documentation discipline. Uses CMMS effectively, maintains accurate work orders, failure data, training records, and compliance documentation. If it’s not documented, it didn’t happen.
