This position is responsible for:
Plans, schedules, supervises and participates in the day-to-day general maintenance and repair of the buildings, grounds, vehicles and transportation; plans, schedules, assigns and supervises the work of subordinate personnel; supervises, monitors and evaluates all contracted maintenance services for effectiveness; ensures all equipment remains in proper working order and compliance with standard operating procedures and safety standards; participates in more difficult repair work; operates a Salvation Army vehicle to pick-up and/or deliver materials; maintains an inventory of all Salvation Army property.
Key Responsibilities
Plans, schedules, assigns, and supervises the work of subordinate maintenance and grounds personnel for the operations of Camp Hoblitzelle Camp & Conference Center
Plans, supervises, and monitors the preventative maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, utilities equipment, and appliances
Assists the immediate supervisor with the preparation of a departmental budget and responsible for administering the departmental budget.
Develop and maintains a network of qualified sub-contractors, vendors and professional services; periodically reviews and maintains list of providers to ensure multiple projects can be conducted simultaneously, competitive pricing is available and quality work is accomplished.
Prepares and submits all contracts and paperwork necessary to approve and secure all special services, renovations, and construction projects; ensures all records for maintenance work is maintained in an accurate manner.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write and communicate the English language effectively.
Ability to drive Salvation Army vehicles in a safe manner.
Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects when assisting with maintenance projects.
Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing and some climbing when assisting with maintenance projects.
Ability and willingness to conduct all duties in accordance with the ministry of the organization and its Christian principles; conducts all communications and job duties with the highest level of professionalism.
Duties require frequent periods of physical mobility including but not limited to standing, walking, climbing, stooping, squatting and lifting when assisting with maintenance projects. Physical duties may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of sitting.
Limited amount of physical effort required associated with lifting, moving, and carrying light objects (up to 25 lbs.) frequently.
Work is usually performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like, but not limited to the office environment.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOUEducation and Experience:
High school diploma or G.E.D., with two years course work from a vocational or technical school in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, and construction trades,
and,
Five to seven years progressively responsible experience performing skilled maintenance and repair work for commercial buildings and grounds with at least three years in a supervisory capacity
or
any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Certifications:
Valid State Drivers License
CPR/First Aide/AED
