Position Summary

The Facility Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of assigned terminals and serves as the primary Facilities Management contact for Terminal Managers within the region. This position owns the full lifecycle of facility maintenance activities, including work order management, vendor oversight, preventive maintenance programs, asset management, capital projects, budgeting, and regulatory compliance. The Facility Manager ensures company assets are maintained in a safe, reliable, and cost-effective manner while delivering outstanding customer service to terminal operations.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Own the full lifecycle of facility work orders from receipt through completion and closure.
  • Prioritize maintenance requests based on operational impact, safety, compliance, and business needs.
  • Maintain proactive communication with Terminal Managers regarding work order status, project updates, and facility concerns.
  • Manage facility service vendors and contractors, including performance, pricing, safety, responsiveness, and service quality.
  • Develop scopes of work, solicit competitive bids, evaluate proposals, and recommend contractor selection.
  • Prepare project estimates and business justifications for expense and capital projects.
  • Coordinate maintenance and construction activities with Terminal Managers and vendors to minimize operational disruption.
  • Manage capital improvement and repair projects from planning through completion.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are established, tracked, and completed on time.
  • Audit preventive maintenance performance and vendor compliance.
  • Maintain facility asset records, condition assessments, and lifecycle replacement plans.
  • Identify repair and replacement needs for building systems including HVAC, roofs, generators, dock equipment, plumbing, electrical systems, and site infrastructure.
  • Review and approve invoices for accuracy and contract compliance.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and expense management activities.
  • Conduct terminal inspections, safety audits, and facility assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and lease obligations.
  • Partner with Operations leadership to deliver exceptional facility support across assigned terminals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of facilities management, construction management, maintenance management, or related experience.
  • Experience managing multiple facilities across a geographic region.
  • Experience managing vendors and service contracts.
  • Experience managing capital and repair projects.
  • Experience with CMMS systems and work order management.
  • Strong budgeting, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% throughout assigned region.

               

Salary Range: $85,600.00 - $107,000.00 annually, based on experience. This position is bonus eligible.
