Retail Property Manager

Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Property Operations / Tenant Relations Manager to support daily operations at a high-profile mixed-use commercial property. This role serves as the primary tenant liaison, ensuring operational issues are resolved efficiently while maintaining a high level of tenant satisfaction.

This role is onsite in Reston, VA.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for tenants, fostering strong relationships through proactive communication and follow-up
• Coordinate tenant move-ins, move-outs, storefront changes, and new tenant orientations
• Manage and oversee exterior common area maintenance and cleaning projects, including vendor bidding, onsite coordination, and invoice review
• Partner with construction and engineering teams to support retail tenant construction and improvement projects
• Monitor tenant spaces, common areas, and grounds to ensure high maintenance standards
• Manage work orders and ensure timely resolution through building staff and external vendors
• Coordinate service contractors (janitorial, security, etc.) to ensure contract compliance and service quality
• Assist with budgets, forecasts, accruals, and expense tracking
• Support RFP development, contract execution, and purchase order approvals
• Coordinate safety initiatives, including tenant warden training and evacuation drills
• Investigate and report incidents, accidents, or property damage

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, real estate, or a related field
• 5+ years of commercial property management experience 
• Strong understanding of operating expenses, budgeting, and lease obligations
• Experience managing vendors, contractors, and tenant improvement projects
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; property management systems a plus
• Knowledge of ADA and OSHA guidelines preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary range of $140K-$150K, based on experience, qualifications, and certifications.  The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
