We are seeking an experienced Assistant Property Manager to support the daily operations of a residential apartment community. This role partners directly with the Property Manager to ensure strong financial performance, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and an exceptional resident experience.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, service-oriented, and comfortable balancing leasing, financial, and operational responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Property Operations

  • Support day-to-day community operations, including leasing, resident services, and maintenance coordination
  • Conduct routine property inspections to maintain safety, cleanliness, and curb appeal
  • Ensure compliance with Fair Housing, OSHA, and all federal, state, and local regulations
  • Maintain accurate and organized resident and operational records

Financial Administration

  • Assist with rent collection, delinquency management, and deposits
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Support budget tracking and variance reporting
  • Prepare and submit required month-end reports

Leasing & Resident Relations

  • Conduct apartment tours and convert prospects to residents
  • Process applications, screenings, and lease documentation accurately and efficiently
  • Coordinate move-ins and support resident retention initiatives
  • Address and resolve resident concerns professionally and promptly

Team & Operational Partnership

  • Partner with the Property Manager to address employee relations matters, performance concerns, coaching conversations, and team development needs
  • Support staff scheduling and reinforce company policies and service standards
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships and service accountability
  • Represent the company in eviction proceedings, when required
  • 2–4 years of property management or residential housing experience
  • Working knowledge of Fair Housing laws (certification required upon hire)
  • Experience with rent collection, financial reporting, and delinquency management
  • Strong communication, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Experience with OneSite or AppFolio preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance required, as travel to additional sites is needed.

Physical Requirements

This position requires a combination of office and on-site responsibilities. Duties may include:

  • Walking the property regularly, including stairs and uneven surfaces
  • Sitting or standing for extended periods
  • Operating standard office equipment
  • Lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally
  • Working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
