About the Role

Description

The Facilities Manager is a hands-on, floor-based role responsible for supporting manufacturing operations through carpentry, light electrical, and plumbing work within an active industrial facility. This role plays a key part in building and supporting production lines, fabricating tooling and fixtures, and maintaining plant infrastructure to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.


This position currently has one direct report, with the opportunity to grow as the maintenance organization scales. The role is onsite and highly hands-on, working closely with Maintenance, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities


Plant Carpentry & Line Support

  • Perform industrial carpentry work to support manufacturing operations, including framing, partitions, platforms, enclosures, guards, and workstations
  • Build, modify, and support production lines, including structural elements and fixtures required for manufacturing workflows
  • Fabricate and install tooling, jigs, fixtures, racks, and supports needed to enable job functions on the production floor
  • Construct and modify temporary and permanent structures to support equipment installs, layout changes, and line expansions

Maintenance & Facilities Support

  • Support the Maintenance department with general plant upkeep, renovations, and facility improvements
  • Perform basic electrical and plumbing tasks as needed to support plant operations within scope and training)
  • Assist with preparation for new equipment installs, including guarding, framing, access platforms, and structural modifications
  • Troubleshoot and repair facility-related issues impacting production or safety

Leadership & Team Support

  • Act as a hands-on Maintenance Lead, providing day-to-day guidance to one direct report, with future growth potential
  • Coordinate work with Maintenance, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to prioritize  production support needs
  • Support scheduling, task execution, and quality of work within the maintenance function

Safety & Compliance

  • Perform all work in accordance with OSHA standards, plant safety policies, and lockout/tagout procedures
  • Maintain a strong safety presence on the floor, particularly when working around active production lines
  • Ensure tools, materials, and work areas are maintained in a safe and organized condition

  

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in facilities or industrial maintenance within a manufacturing, industrial, or plant environment
  • Proven hands-on carpentry experience supporting active facilities or production operations
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical and plumbing work in an industrial setting
  • Experience building or supporting manufacturing lines, tooling, or production infrastructure
  • Ability to work onsite, Monday–Friday, with flexibility for occasional weekend support

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing, power, electronics, industrial equipment, or heavy industrial facilities
  • Prior experience in a lead role within maintenance or facilities
  • Familiarity working alongside maintenance technicians, electricians, and engineers
  • Experience supporting line builds, expansions, or facility growth projects
