About the Role
Summary:
The Facilities Manager is responsible for the ongoing operation, maintenance, and improvement of buildings, infrastructure, and facility systems supporting manufacturing and production operations. This role provides technical oversight following construction completion, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational requirements. Crucially, the Facilities Manager must understand that effective facility management is the foundation for uninterrupted production and manufacturing excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Production Support & Strategic Planning: Understand and prioritize facility maintenance as a core driver for production support.
- Annual Planning & Budgeting: Establish and execute comprehensive daily and monthly facility work plans. Develop, manage, and execute annual budgets for operations, maintenance, and capital investments.
- Cost Management: Estimate construction/repair costs, calculate projected expenses, and collaborate with relevant departments for financial alignment.
- Project & Contract Management: Lead new construction and supplementary investment projects, including budget preparation, vendor selection, construction management, progress payments, and contract administration.
- Infrastructure Maintenance: Plan and implement periodic inspections and repair works, effectively utilizing on-site resident contractors.
- Disaster Recovery & Risk Management: Develop and execute proactive response plans for natural disasters and implement immediate post-event recovery measures.
- Vendor Ecosystem: Maintain and manage a robust pool of qualified construction and service partners.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Actively respond to facility-related requests from other departments and support general corporate administrative tasks as needed.
- Technical Documentation: Read, interpret, and verify the adequacy of technical drawings and blueprints.
- This role supports essential manufacturing and construction operations and may require working extended hours, weekends, or participating in coordination meetings outside standard business hours to support project execution and global collaboration when required.

- Follow established emergency communication protocols and escalate incidents to appropriate personnel according to company procedures.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Facilities Management, or Engineering.
- Professional certifications such as CAPM or PMP preferred.
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in factory construction or facility maintenance/management.
- Proven experience supporting facility operations in large-scale industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Prior exposure to global manufacturing, engineering, or EPC environments.
- Experience in factory expansion or renovation projects within an active production environment.
Work Authorization:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Skills:
- Multi-Disciplinary Expertise: Primary background in Architectural Engineering with the ability to manage Civil and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) projects.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in AutoCAD for drawing review and minor modifications.
- Drawing Interpretation: Advanced ability to read and evaluate the technical accuracy of construction drawings.
- Demonstrated ability to estimate construction costs and lead negotiations/adjustments with contractors.
- Execution & Judgment: High level of integrity with the ability to make rapid, sound decisions and provide swift responses to facility issues.
- Communication: Strong ability to collaborate cross-functionally and manage external partners effectively.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to properly and regularly utilize the following PPE for a period of up to 12 hours:
- Safety glasses
- Steel-toed shoes
- Nitrile gloves
- Ear protection
- Cleanroom suit
Must be able to perform the following activities repeatedly for periods of up to 12 hours:
- Lift, push, and pull materials or equipment
- Stoop, twist, and bend
- Reach overhead
- Sit and/or stand for extended periods
- Use hands and fingers to operate tools, equipment, and computer systems
Work Environment:
- Work may involve handling or working in proximity to hazardous materials and regulated industrial chemicals.
- Exposure to chemical vapors, dust, or other controlled substances may occur depending on process assignment.
- Strict adherence to company safety policies and OSHA Hazard Communication requirements is mandatory.
- Employees must properly wear and maintain assigned personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times within designated areas.
- Required PPE may include respirators, chemical-resistant garments, gloves, eye protection, face shields, or other equipment determined by process and risk assessment.
