Job DetailsJob Location: Yuma, AZ 95367Position Type: Full TimePOSITION SUMMARY
Oversees the maintenance staff and building’s physical infrastructure, ensuring all systems are operational, safe, and compliant with regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Include but are not limited to the following:
Oversee Maintenance Operations ensuring that all building systems such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing and electrical systems, are maintained and function properly.
Supervise and manage the maintenance team, including hiring, training, and evaluating staff performance to ensure a skilled and effective workforce.
Ensure the facility complies with all safety standards and regulations, conducting regular safety audits and coordinating necessary safety training for staff. May oversee Safety Committee.
Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all equipment and infrastructure to minimize downtime and repair costs.
Manage and coordinate responses to emergency maintenance situations to ensure swift resolution and minimal impact on facility operations.
Develop and monitor the maintenance budget including procurement of supplies and contracting with vendors for services.
Liaison with residents and staff communicating effectively with residents and other staff members to address their maintenance concerns and ensure satisfaction with the living environment.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, and compliance activities to support facility management and regulatory requirements.
Continuously assess and improve maintenance practices and procedures to enhance facility efficiency and resident comfort.
Supervisory Responsibility: Yes.
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience:
Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, associate’s degree or higher in facility management, engineering, or a related field, preferred.
Certifications such as Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM), or specific technical certifications (like HVAC) can be highly beneficial.
Several years of experience in maintenance, typically ranging from 3-5 years, with at least some of those years in a supervisory or management role. Experience in healthcare or residential facilities can be particularly valuable due to the unique environments and regulatory requirements of these settings.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Comprehensive understanding of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical settings.
Familiarity with safety and building codes, and health regulations pertinent to assisted and/or independent living facilities.
Knowledge of budgeting, cost estimation, and fiscal management.
Strong problem solving and decision-making skills to effectively handle maintenance issues and emergencies.
Ability to plan and implement preventative maintenance programs.
Competence in using maintenance management software for scheduling and record-keeping.
Effective communication skills for interacting with residents, staff, and external contractors.
Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team, fostering a collaborative work environment.
Capability to manage multiple projects and priorities under tight deadlines.
Strong organizational abilities to ensure smooth operation of all maintenance activities.
Capacity to adapt to the changing needs of residents and to implement improvements infacility maintenance practices.
