JOB TITLE: MAINTENANCE MANAGER (FULL-TIME)
Reports To: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Post Closes: ONCE FILLED
FSLA Status: EXEMPT
SUMMARY
Reports directly to the Executive Director and functional as a member of the MBCPR leadership team. The Operations Manager is responsible for keeping parks, recreation facilities and grounds clean, safe, and well-maintained.
The successful candidate in this position will be responsible for the prompt repairs and on-going maintenance of all park facilities and grounds. Duties also include routinely inspecting and monitoring conditions of parks and facilities, and insuring cleaning & preventative maintenance is scheduled and completed. The maintenance manage will take the lead on snow removal activities, communicate conditions with MBCPR leadership, and restore safe and clear conditions to facilities. The maintenance manager works closely and communicates daily with MBCPR leadership team, works with administrative staff to manage the computerized work order system, and delegates and prioritizes daily maintenance tasks for custodial and maintenance staff.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma and 10+ years' minimum experience in related field.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
- Must be experienced in one or more trades.
- Must have 10 or more years' experience in facility and/or grounds maintenance
- Must be competent in Microsoft office applications and general use of technology.
- Must pass background criminal check and will be subject to drug and alcohol screening
- Must be willing to be trained in CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, First Aid certification or
ESSENTIAL DUITES AND REPONSIBILITES include the following:
- Manages, coordinates, and oversees the operation and maintenance of MBCPR parks, recreational facilities, and grounds. Ensures that physical operation of facilities and grounds meet the board’s budget and operational goals.
- Schedules and delegates maintenance activities, preventive maintenance programs, and renovation programs for buildings, grounds, and equipment.
- Provides hands-on management of custodial and maintenance staff. Functions as a working manager to assign work orders, supervised completion and personally complete work orders and maintenance
task. - Reports deficiencies to Executive Director and helps plan for repair or replacement.
- Assists with development of the maintenance operations budget, and procurement of supplies and equipment. Verifies and approves all purchases made by operations staff.
- Contributes to strategic planning by evaluating needs and proposing options to achieve them.
- Leads MBCPR team to develop policies and procedures for the operations teams and maintain organized records of these documents and programs.
- Recruits, hires, trains and evaluates department staff; ensures staff receives training related to specific job tasks and responsibilities.
- Maintains updated and accurate records of inventory, maintenance schedules, and inspections.
- Responds to emergencies and organizes staff and or contractors to meet the needs of the situation.
- Oversees fleet vehicles maintenance.
- Manages computerized work order management system to prioritize, assign and track work orders.
- Coordinates the efforts of vendors and contractors.
- Works as an active member of the operations team to complete skilled tasks.
Works to improve the experience of MBCPR patrons.
Other duties as assigned.

- Ability to easily move through a variety of terrain, climb ladders and complete manual labor under a variety of conditions.
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds frequently and to stand, sit, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl frequently.
- Ability to communicate in a polite and pleasant manner and actively interact with patrons.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to balance managerial duties with hand-on production to keep the operations department running smoothly.
- This position requires working indoors and out in a variety of temperatures and weather conditions.

- Clear oral, electronic, and written communication with employees, leadership team, and patrons is a vital aspect of this position.
SCHEDULE
- Work hours may vary. Typical work hours for this position are 7:00am-3:30 pm M-F with occasional evenings and weekends.
- Schedule is subject to change due to weather and/or maintenance needs.
- May be required to work occasional nights and/or weekends.
- This position will have on-call duties
