At our greenhouse in Loudon, we grow more than 650,000 pounds of leafy greens per year for New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Massachusetts, Maine, Connecticut, and New York. We are currently in need of a Maintenance Manager to support our team.

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading the Facilities/Maintenance Department. The Maintenance Manager ensures uninterrupted production operations through the management of Preventive/Predictive maintenance practices, breakdown support, facility maintenance, project management of facility upgrade and general facilities management. This role is responsible for ensuring adequate working conditions for all employees. This position is a main point of contact for external municipality and related agencies associated with facility management including powerhouse systems, wastewater and supplemental energy contracts. The ideal candidate will bring technical functional depth and credibility and must also possess the requisite leadership traits and business acumen to interface with the Greenhouse Leadership Team, Senior Leadership, Government Municipalities, outside vendors and contractors.

Specifically, you will:

  • Ensure safety regulation compliance and provide a safe working environment for employees
  • Support all components of the Food Safety Program
  • Manage all production equipment, facility equipment, buildings, grounds, parking lot
  • Support engineering and capital projects
  • Manage outsourced contract and construction activities
  • Be responsible for and manage facilities/maintenance budget
  • Write projects to replace, upgrade or refurbish equipment, facilities and grounds
  • Teach, cultivate, and promote teamwork and problem solving in a positive, proactive work environment

The ideal candidate: 

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of facilities operational management or related experience
  • Ability to work any shift and overtime as required
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods
  • Experience working with governmental agency and/or municipal utilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various levels of employees within all areas of the facility from hourly employees to senior leadership as required
  • Ability to build effective business relationships with plant leadership and senior leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to coach / mentor / develop team members
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing skilled and technical employees
  • Experience implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs
  • Experience with computer maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets
  • Working Knowledge of Water Treatment, Power House (Compressed Air, Hot Water Boilers), HVAC, Electrical Distribution and the ability to read blueprints
  • Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working extended hours when necessary
  • Willing to get your hands dirty when necessary
  • Sitting at a computer for up to 50% of the time
  • Walking/Inspecting the site up to 50% of the time

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical / engineering discipline 
  • Greenhouse processing, Food or Agricultural Experience
