Oakbrook Corporation is seeking an experienced Property Manager to lead operations at Berkshire Kensington, a beautifully renovated 177-unit active adult (55+) community. This is an exciting opportunity for a property management professional who enjoys building strong resident relationships, leading teams, and creating an exceptional living experience for a vibrant community.

As Property Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring the community remains a place residents are proud to call home while driving occupancy, financial performance, and resident satisfaction.

What You'll Do

As the Property Manager, you'll oversee all aspects of daily operations, including:

  • Provide outstanding customer service to residents, prospective residents, team members, and vendors
  • Lead, supervise, train, and motivate on-site staff
  • Build strong relationships with residents and foster a positive community culture
  • Monitor operating budgets, capital expenditures, and property performance
  • Prepare monthly reports, lease summaries, and operational analyses
  • Review leases and ensure accurate resident file management
  • Coordinate move-ins, move-outs, unit turns, and resident retention efforts
  • Manage rent collections and delinquency procedures
  • Drive occupancy goals through leasing and marketing initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations and company policies
  • Manage investor, state agency, and property inspections
  • Respond to after-hours emergencies when necessary
  • Maintain compliance with Affordable Housing programs
  • Process move-ins and recertifications, including income and asset verifications
  • Demonstrate and uphold Oakbrook's core values

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Residential property management experience required
  • Affordable Housing experience preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills
  • Experience with property management software
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to conduct regular property inspections, with or without accommodation
  • Valid driver's license required
