Job DetailsJob Location: Lakeview Fitness - Vernon Hills, IL 60061Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $56,000.00 - $65,000.00 Salary/yearJob Shift: DaySUMMARY Assistant Facility Manager Exempt Recreation Facilities Manager Under the direction and supervision of the Recreation Facilities Manager, the Assistant Facility Manager will be responsible for the supervision, planning, and evaluation of all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the fitness center. In addition, this position will be responsible for ensuring the continued growth of programs and memberships at the fitness center. Essential job functions relate to Lakeview Fitness, unless otherwise specified. REPORTS TO: Recreation Facilities Manager QUALIFICATIONS A Bachelor’s degree in parks and recreation, exercise science, kinesiology, health/wellness, physical education, or a closely related field is preferred with two years of experience in a position with similar responsibilities, supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted (4 years combined education/experience). Position requires strong people and customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with the staff and public while efficiently multitasking. The ability to follow through on detailed work and solid computer skills are required. The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, confident, and able to project a professional appearance. CPRP certification is required, when eligible, based on NRPA experience requirements. CPR/AED certification or be willing to complete CPR/AED training within the first 60 days of employment required. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Perform “Manager on Duty” responsibilities at Lakeview Fitness; resolving customer concerns, resolving incidents and program issues as they occur, processing incident and accident reports as necessary, contacting appropriate personnel for emergencies, monitoring facility by conducting periodic building walk-throughs, general awareness of, and responsiveness to, facility and program needs at all times Conduct various methods of Key Performance Indicators through annual member surveys, analyze results, and provide recommendations to the Recreation Facilities Manager. Performs front desk services and operations at Lakeview Fitness providing excellent customer service. This includes the following: Responsible to learn, understand and be able to communicate the various programs, services and operations of the district, both in person and on the phone. Answer questions about the organization, its facilities and programs. Promote Lakeview Fitness, Park District programs, and services. Actively generate memberships and facility rental opportunities through community outreach, networking, partnerships, referrals, promotional initiatives, and relationship development to increase participation and revenue. Oversee facility rentals, usage agreements, and certificates of insurance for rentals at Lakeview Fitness. Conduct tours of the facility while establishing a relationship and targeting an individual’s needs and wants. Monitoring and managing of communications with potential and existing clients in the CRM Represent Lakeview Fitness within the community to build relationships and promote memberships through events, partnerships, and outreach opportunities Be able to register customers for memberships, programs, and events using the registration software. Maintain and consistently update the Google Doc to reflect current membership status and notes Review daily facility activities and upcoming events; be familiar with current programs and promotions Responsible for the management and maintenance of all large equipment retained by the fitness center. Provides recommendations for future equipment purchase based upon departmental needs Serve as the point of contact for the building cleaning company and ensure day-to-day cleanliness of the facility. Provide subsequent training and ongoing support to customer service staff, Membership Services Supervisor, and Recreation Supervisor - Fitness Monitor, maintain, and assist members with the Lakeview Fitness App. Develop and maintain member referral and retention programs Attend weekly team meetings to provide membership updates, as well as review membership and CRM procedures Assist with the planning and running of Special Events and Member Appreciation Events to promote Lakeview Fitness Collaborate with the Marketing Department to strategically market programs and events including to develop and proof promotional materials, including brochures, flyers, press releases, and social media content. Position may require day, evening and weekend shifts; hours may vary depending on business and program needs. Perform related duties as required by management to meet the needs of the District and the customer. SAFETY AND RISK MANAGEMENT Maintain working knowledge of District and departmental safety rules. Attend required safety meetings and in-service trainings. Follow the Risk Management Manual, Emergency Response Plan, and OSHA compliance policies. Ensure Emergency Operation Plan and Safety Checklist are completed before each event. Train and drill staff on medical emergencies, evacuation, and disaster procedures. Develop and implement an annual calendar of in-service trainings and ensure staff participation PSYCHOLOGICAL CONSIDERATIONS Apply common sense and follow verbal, written, or diagrammed instructions.
