Maintenance Manager

Are you a collaborative leader with a passion for operational excellence, technical innovation, and safety? We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to direct, mentor, and elevate our maintenance team. In this pivotal role, you will champion a proactive safety culture, drive continuous improvement, and leverage cutting-edge Industry 4.0 systems to optimize equipment reliability and minimize production downtime.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead & Mentor: Plan, direct, monitor, coach, and evaluate a team of shift technicians. Partner with production supervisors to ensure seamless maintenance leadership across all shifts.

  • Talent Management: Drive recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management. Utilize standardized training documentation to build a consistent, high-skilled workforce.

  • Culture Champion: Foster an environment built on core company values: safety, leadership, accountability, excellence, trust, teamwork, and strong communication.

Operational Excellence & Equipment Reliability

  • Reliability Engineering: Develop, implement, and manage advanced Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) programs to ensure maximum machine availability.

  • Minimize Downtime: Collaborate closely with Controls and Operations teams to aggressively reduce setup, changeover, and cycle times.

  • Industry 4.0 & Innovation: Leverage advanced digital systems and data collection to perform high-level complex analyses, tracking equipment availability against measurable targets.

  • Inventory & Vendor Management: Partner with the supply chain team to optimize spare parts stocking levels; strategically balance internal maintenance talent with outsourced specialized resources.

Continuous Improvement & Strategy

  • Lean Manufacturing: Drive a robust continuous improvement agenda by implementing lean manufacturing practices tailored to maintenance operations.

  • Shutdown Management: Strategically plan and execute plant maintenance shutdowns to minimize production impact.

  • Capital & Systems Analysis: Research and analyze the feasibility, cost, design, and performance of new equipment, components, and facility systems.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facility Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field.

  • Technical Background: 5+ years of hands-on experience in a production or maintenance environment.

  • Leadership: 5+ years of proven, successful people-management experience with a track record of building and leading cohesive teams.

  • Methodologies: Solid understanding and practical experience implementing lean manufacturing principles.

Preferred Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong technical aptitude with electronics, controls, PLCs, and programming.

  • Exceptional troubleshooting, problem-solving, and professional negotiation skills.

  • High initiative and a strong sense of urgency in resolving technical and operational bottlenecks.

  • Ability to utilize data-driven analysis to evaluate departmental effectiveness and human resource performance.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Operational Presence: This role is based directly on the production/foundry floor. Incumbents must be comfortable working in a dynamic industrial setting, including exposure to heat, dust, fumes, moving machinery, and variable noise levels.

  • Physical Capabilities: Requires the ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and perform tasks requiring fine motor manipulation or depth perception. Must be able to occasionally lift/carry up to 24 lbs, and infrequently lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Availability: Standard schedule with flexibility required to support multi-shift operations, emergency troubleshooting, or shutdown windows outside of standard business hours.

Conditions of Employment

  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment assessment, physical, drug screen, and background check.

  • Compliance with all organizational and departmental policies, including maintaining a smoke- and tobacco-free property.

Salary Range - $75,000 to $120,000
