About the Role
VIP is seeking an ambitious, hands-on professional to join us as our Facilities Manager. This is a unique role designed for someone who has mastered the technical "how-to" of building maintenance. You will work side-by-side with our current Facilities Manager to learn our infrastructure and vendor management. Upon successful completion of this mentorship period, you will be prepared to step into the lead Facilities Manager role, where you will be responsible for the strategic oversight and day-to-day physical operations of our office headquarters in Colchester, VT. This role ensures a safe, efficient, and sustainable environment by managing building systems, vendor relationships, and large-scale maintenance projects.
Position Type: Full Time, In-Person - will be required to report to our office in Colchester, VT
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and Operations - Oversee the repair and upkeep of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Vendor Management - Negotiate and manage contracts with external service providers (janitorial, security, landscaping, snow removal, etc.) to ensure high-quality service and cost-efficiency.
- Safety and Compliance - Ensure the building meets all local health and safety regulations (OSHA, ADA, Fire Code and alarms, sprinkler systems) and lead emergency preparedness planning.
- Space Planning - Coordinate desk moves, office expansions, and gym equipment and furniture procurement.
- Ticketing System - Address various facility requests as they arise.
- Management - Manage a small Facilities Team.
Requirements:
- 5+ years in facilities management, property management, or a related field.
- Understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems (fire alarms, sprinklers).
- Ability to oversee renovations, office moves, or equipment installs on time.
- Ability to communicate clearly with everyone from the CEO to a third-party technician.
- Available for "on-call" emergencies (flooding, power outages, or security breaches).
- CFM (Certified Facility Manager) or FMP (Facility Management Professional) credentials preferred but not required.

Compensation: $70,000 - $85,000/year
Compensation is based on a variety of factors including skills, experience, and industry background. The range listed here represents our best faith estimate for the role.
