About the Role

Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and repair of buildings, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Negotiate and manage service contracts for security, janitorial services, and specialized facility maintenance.
  • Prepare facilities for changing weather conditions.
  • Collaborate with Leadership Team on budgeting for facilities needs.
  • Develop a report/tracking system for repairs and projects to be reported. Maintain logs of maintenance activities, security incidents, safety inspections, etc.
  • Keep building and facilities up to code and accurately follow maintenance protocol.
  • Monitor interior and exterior areas of building for cleanliness and general conservation.
  • Ensure all facilities and equipment comply with local, state, and federal health and safety and security regulations, including OSHA requirements.
  • Establish and manage a preventative maintenance schedule for all equipment and building systems.
  • Coordinate facility upgrades, renovations, and office moves.
  • Delegate cleaning responsibilities to outside custodial workers.
  • Regularly inspect batteries in the thirteen central offices to ensure proper operation of backup systems and equipment.
  • Ensure the security of all buildings by maintaining security systems, monitoring access points, and conducting regular security checks.
  • Collaborate with Safety Team, local law enforcement, and and emergency responders to communicate Emergency Action Plan (EAP) based on SCTelcom’s Business Continuity Emergency Plan.
  • Act as the primary contact for after-hours security, maintenance, and emergency calls.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.


Specialized Skills

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Advanced mechanical skills and knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, and other building systems.
  • Proficiency with repair tools and techniques.
  • Ablilit to identify emerging risks and implement preventative measures.
  • Ability to analyze risks and make quick, sound decisions.
  • Must be able to multi-task.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Forklift Certification
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel between offices and Cos.
